Summary: I have commented, from an ecological viewpoint, on Prof Trewavas's contribution at the RSE, Edinburgh meeting (27 Jan 2003), specifically examining potential advantages, disadvantages and ecological trade-offs from using chloroplast over-expression of insecticidal Bt toxins in GM crops.
