Professor Janet Bainbridge
Prof J M Bainbridge OBE BSc (Hons) PhD Dunelm, Grad Cert Ed (Tech),
FRSA, MSOFHT. Prof Bainbridge is currently Chief Executive of EPICC
Ltd a not for profit company working regionally, nationally and
internationally with the Process Industries (Chemical and Food Manufacturers);
she is particularly interested in facilitating innovation as a result
of research collaborations between industry and academia.
A distinguished academic she was formerly responsible for academic
staff development across the University of Teesside and led the
University to Investors in People (IIP) accreditation and subsequent
renewal. As Director of School she reprofiled the academic provision
in Science and Engineering.
She is former chair of the Advisory on Novel Foods and Processes
(ACNFP) and a former co-opted member of the Advisory Committee on
Releases to the Environment (ACRE). She was formerly a member of
the Food Chain Crops for Industry Foresight Panel and Chaired the
Debate in the Food Chain task force. Janet is currently a Council
Member of EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council)
and sits on their Resource Audit Committee.
Janet has a reputation for being an excellent communicator of science
with a distinguished international profile and has participated
in several overseas lecture tours. She currently supervises several
overseas researchers who are working at the interface of science,
innovation and commercial exploitation
